The Manitoba Brain Injury Association held their annual event called “Mock Car Crash” on May 13, 2026. The Mock Car Crash has been designed to show students firsthand the aftereffects of a fatal collision, such as the impact on the family and emergency personnel, followed by a funeral for the holistic picture of a possible tragedy. Around 250 students attended the event from various school divisions of Winnipeg this year. “I think it was a very realistic representation. I hope that it opens my peers’ eyes on the issue,” comments one of the attending students.
We would also like to take this moment to thank all our sponsors for making this event possible, in particular MPI, Chapel Funeral, RCMP, City of Winnipeg Police, Fire Department, and first responders. Thank you for supporting MBIA and student related initiatives.
